Happy New Year - 2012!
We said farewell to 2011 with a little bouldering at the new gym in South Seattle, the Seattle Bouldering Project. Isaac LOVED it - we all did! Isaac even did a few top-out boulder problems with some help from Nate. Sadly, we did not take any pictures since we were too busy climbing.
To kick start 2012 we headed up to the WAC cabin to play in the snow.

and tried skiing! Well, sort of. The skis were broken but he got the idea and seemed to enjoy it. Yay!

Isaac's 1st Christmas in Minnesconsin
This year was Isaac's first Christmas in Minnesconsin. We had so much fun with Gramma, Grampa and KACO (Kirk, Angela, Carter, Olivia).
When we arrived, there was a dusting of snow - just enough for some sledding! We headed out early on Christmas Eve morning to take advantage of what snow there was before the sun melted it all away. :( We started out on a "bunny slope" which was so very exciting for the little man.
And then headed for the bigger hill which required a parental assist to avoid crashing.
Isaac enjoyed a leisurely Christmas morning - reading the comics and having a light breakfast before KACO arrived for the big feast and present opening.
The cousins on Christmas morning: before the presents were opened.
The Hauge family
The next day we bundled up for a cold and windy hike at Willow Falls State Park.
Unfortunately, the trail down to the falls was too treacherous so instead we drove down to the lake to play on the ice. Only one slip by Isaac - he thought the ice was pretty neat!
We met an ice fisherman who showed Isaac his gear and fresh catch.
All bundled up but still having fun!
That evening, Isaac decorated sugar cookies - an art form that requires some serious concentration
They were delicious!
and the sugar provided ample energy for some couch jumping!
Run! Your shadow is chasing you!
Our last full day in Minnesota was spent at Como Zoo. I really wanted to see the newly remodeled polar bear exhibit. This guy weighs 1000 lbs!!
Isaac loves his new monkey hat from his great Aunt Jo. (I think it's pretty cute too).
As usual, it was sad to say goodbye. Thanks for everything Mom & Dad! Isaac sure misses his Gramma & Grampa. We can't wait for our next Hauge Christmas in 2013!
Merry Christmas!

Playing airplane
Airplane! The neighbors must have had a good laugh watching all of us fly around like airplanes.
Here is a glimpse of silly Isaac and how much fun we have on our days home together.

Getting ready for Christmas
I can already tell that it is going to be an extra fun Christmas this year. Isaac is so excited!
Okay, so he was not so excited about this reindeer picture ...
He had fun helping Nate put up the Christmas lights on our fence
He especially loves the Christmas tree and finding all the different ornaments!

Isaac turns TWO!
Happy Birthday to YOU!
After a donut breakfast, we headed to the zoo for a carousel ride
We let Isaac open one present early (the biggest) -- it was a motorcycle! He had a lot of fun helping Nate put it together.
Blowing out the candles on his birthday carrot cupcake (that he helped make!).
It sure was a good birthday! Thank you EVERYONE for making it so special. I can't believe Isaac turned TWO.
Latest stats from his appointment with Dr Tom this morning:
32 lbs (90%)
35 1/4 inches (75%)

Happy Halloween!
Isaac was not so sure about this pumpkin carving thing ...
I think they turned out pretty good!
The doggie costume was a big hit - especially the tail!
Why are all these people dressed so funny and what is happening?
