Desert Hike


Isaac learned a lot on our hikes in the desert.  He learned about cactus needles (aka "pokey things") and got to search for different types of flowers, birds, and desert animal scat.  He also learned about "Leave No Trace" - that we need to stay on the trail so that we do not hurt the little plants that are trying to grow.   A little bit later, we got some video of him talking about these very things.  Kids amaze me.


For those of you not familiar with Isaac speak, here is the translation:

Look at those pokey things on the ...
I touched the leaves
All the baby leaves are trying to grow
Let's find some pretty flowers
Oh, the train is starting to move
Yea ....  I heard the train's honk
uh, uh ...(translation: pick me up I want to see the train!)
