It's been a busy month, lots of family parties and various outings, which, combined with the soggy weather, means that we haven't been for a hike since Memorial Day! So over 4th of July weekend we decided to head to Lake Twenty Two. The forecast was calling for clouds and rain -- figured we could try out the canopy on our kid backpack. We got about 40 minutes in when Isaac decided he didn't want to be in the carrier anymore and needed to eat. It was drizzling so I sat on our pad in a jumble of small boulders on the side of the trail, had to keep both hands on Isaac b/c he was squirmy, and balanced an umbrella on my head while Nate spoon fed him. It worked! But in the end, Isaac just wasn't too happy and it was gross out so we turned around and ended the day with a sunny walk around Green Lake. All in all a great day!

Went spent the actual 4th of July at a BBQ with the family. Isaac got to spend time with his Great Grandma Riensche!
and he got to play with Maggie, his favorite laboradoodle
